Originally by: J Kunjeh I agree with the OP, even if I would never pay that price for one. BUT, the problem I'm having is why there isn't a large spread of items available at prices from low to high? The high end wouldn't be devalued if the same things weren't available on the low end.
yo im sure they will add cheaper items sooner or later ... wouldnt it be fun to add a monocle that looks extremly ugly for 1Ç
but if you want the top items .. you need to dish out money ...up to you

Originally by: Soi Mala Vanity is simply used here to describe the fact that it has no function, not that it is a status symbol. Secondly, comparing a virtual monocle to a rolls royce is tragic. This isn't some high quality, precision engineered optic. It's a very plain 3d model.
Once it is modelled, you're no longer paying the 3d artist, and you have a license to print money. Most 3d studios will let you spit out something of similar quality in a couple of hours.
Will you send me $60 if i send you a virtual copy of my brown monocle?
see so of only 10 ppl buy it the developing time is payed ....

As this will dampen the demand until only a few exceptions will pay for it. I would say, before the prices of these items became known, there was sufficient demand for it, I think CCP have cost themselves quite a bit of money by pricing them so high.
Quite frankly, where is doctor Eog when CCP needs him. Isn't he an economist.
thats only if these stuuf we see now would never get changed im sure there will be "cheap" items also soon (the CCP soon)

Catering to the elite can make you a lot of money, but it's peanuts compared to selling products for the average guy because there are so many more of them.
or you do both
